Crazed Fans

The amazing stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.

Australian authorities have urged fans of Steve Irwin not to attack stingrays after several rays were found dead since the TV naturalist was killed in a rare fatal attack by one of the normally placid animals.

Irwin, whose "Crocodile Hunter" documentaries were watched by more than 200 million people, was killed eight days ago when the serrated barb from a stingray's tail pierced his heart.

Queensland state officials said up to 10 of the animals have since been found dead in coastal waters.

Yep. It's the ol' "you hurt one of ours and we'll take it out on all your kind". So there might actually be people out there taking revenge on stingrays for the accidental death of the Crocodile Hunter, the guy who often purposely put himself into dangerous situations that had the potential to end with his death. The stingray clearly acted maliciously when it got scared and thought it was defending itself. It prolly hated his show.

Not to be outdone in the World Championship for Crazies, our favorite contestant PETA pulls their latest stunt.

Animal rights group PETA have launched an attack on the late 'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin - just days after his death.
...
PETA spokesman Dan Mathews said: "He made his career out of antagonising frightened wild animals, and that's a very dangerous message to send to young children."

Mathews also branded the wildlife expert - who was buried in a private ceremony on Saturday (09.09.06) - a "cheap reality TV star".

They're nothing if not classy.
