Lack of regulation hurts US economy

The entire South Korean cabinet, including the Prime Minister, has offered to resigned amid protests against the decision to lift the ban on importing US beef, which is suspected of being full of mad cow due to the fact that we don't really have health and safety standards over here. People are setting themselves on fire over this. There's a lot of angles to look at this from, but i think it's interesting that while Republicans talk about how regulation stifles the economy, in this case it's our lack of regulation that makes our beef uncompetitive in the global market.

"People are setting themselves on fire over this."

Obviously we need to start regulating fire. We need to know where this fire comes from and if it is dangerous to the population. I'm proposing a new fire inspection bill that will require that all sources of flame be inspected for safety prior to use.

Of course, if the fire is safe, then the protester can by all means set him or herself on fire in protest to... what was this about again? Beef?

Oh hell. Why not just not buy it? I mean, not buying some beef or setting yourself on fire... how hard of a choice is that to make? Huh?

I mean, you can always eat pork, chicken, fish, or a Uruguayan rugby team. If you set yourself on fire in protest to something, the only thing that will happen is some smarmy haughty bastard will make jokes at your expense on the Internet where only a few people will read them. Is that something you want to die a horrible painful death over? I don't think so.

Maybe the man really loves beef and doesn't think life is worth living if he can't have it. I know that if they started only selling rice pudding with mushrooms in it, Wanyas would start setting things on fire (although probably not himself).

hell, wayne would do that regardless of fungi-full colloidal rice desserts.
