But the problem is that map is so large that it's impossible to pinpoint Damascus even if you know where it is. Trying to pinpoint Damascus on a map of the Middle East would make more sense.

There's a zoom control on the left side. It was a little weird that they start you zoomed out, but i guess they didn't want to give any hints. I did see in the results when i took the quiz that people were picking places in Australia.
