Normalizing relations with Cuba

Long overdue, but good news.

Cautiously optimistic about this news, it's been a long-time coming.

(In case they're of any interest, here are pics from my trip there last year... returning in January! https://www.flickr.com/photos/cullenenn/sets/72157632559146039/ )

Thanks for sharing the pics!

so, what's there to eat in Cuba for vegans?

I have to say, it was pretty rough-going when I was there. Basically I loaded up on raw fruit whenever I got the chance; the "old standby" is arroz congri (beans and rice) which I got *incredibly* sick of after 8 days. There were some highlights, though, including a few places that catered to vegetarians and vegans; a really cute Mediterranean/Levantine place in Old Havana; and tofu + veggie dishes in Chinatown (have to be very careful when you order, though!). I had a really awful cheeseless pizza at the Hotel Nacional.
It's definitely the part I am least looking forward to :\
