Avengers #128

Issue(s): Avengers #128
Cover Date: Oct 74
Title: "Bewitched, bothered, and dead!"
Credits:
Steve Englehart - Writer
Sal Buscema - Penciler
Joe Staton - Inker

Review/plot:
While Mantis hits on the Vision...

...the Scarlet Witch gets trained in real witchcraft by Agatha Harkness and fights a demon.

That's basically it, folks; i'm not going to lie to you.

A star appears over Avengers Mansion...

and then Kang shows up. The star is eventually revealed to be the doing of the Watcher to commemorate the Celestial Madonna.

Quality Rating: C-

Historical Significance Rating: 2 - Scarlet Witch begins learning magic

Chronological Placement Considerations: Takes place as the FF and the Avengers return home from Crystal and Quicksilver's wedding in Fantastic Four #150. No appearances of any of these characters should appear between Fantastic Four #150 and this issue. Leads directly into the Celestial Madonna story starting in Avengers #129 due to a cliffhanger that has nothing to do with the main events of this issue.

Comments

The title is taken from the 1950s song "Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered"
