Daredevil #355Issue(s): Daredevil #355 Review/plot: Matt Murdock interviews Mr. Hyde, who he's being forced to defend. We learn that the dead girl was a runaway Angela Parish. Hyde says that months ago he kidnapped ("took") her, and brought her to a warehouse he bought from Harry Osborn ("Nervous little man with murder on his mind. I liked him."). He says that he didn't kill Parish. "Oh, I would've... but I wasn't done with her, yet!" Matt's radar sense detects no lie. Disgusted by Hyde, Matt tells Foggy that he may rescind his acceptance of Rosalind Sharpe's offer. He and Foggy (and Karen Page) get into a debate about law ethics. Later Daredevil is swinging around the city and detects a fire at the warehouse where Hyde held Parish. The fire was started by Pyro. It's worth noting that Daredevil and Pyro do have some history, as seen in Daredevil #269. It's not referenced, but they do talk to each other with a general familiarity. It's not explicitly said until the end of the fight, but Pyro has the Legacy Virus and you can see him suffering for it. And that motivates him risk dying to be the guy who killed Daredevil rather than go out in a hospital bed. Pyro also claims it wasn't Hyde that hired him to destroy evidence. Matt believes that, and later tells Foggy and Rosalind that he's dedicated to the case. Everyone talks about Hyde like the options are convicting him of murder or setting him free. He's clearly admitted to kidnapping and abusing Angela Parish. Granted, he admitted that to Matt under client-lawyer privileges, but you'd think Matt would already be trying to find a way to work that angle (unless he's consider that unethical). Pyro is thought to have died in this issue, but he'll appear later this year in Uncanny X-Men #338 with this story unacknowledged. The art doesn't suffer from the multiple artists. And everything from the cover to the scripting and story elements make me feel like this book fell through a time warp from 1998.
