Daredevil #67Issue(s): Daredevil #67 Review/plot: The issue is scripted by Gary Friedrich, but he continues the weirdly smug attitude that Matt has despite the fact that he's in LA to try to win Karen back. Calling women "batty" always gets you on their good side. Karen's acting job last issue was well received, and she gets a call to star in a tv pilot. The fact that she can convince Daredevil to come as well surely wasn't a factor in the decision to pick her. But she does get him to come along. And Hollywood has really changed her. She's already too big to answer the phone herself, so she has Daredevil doing it for her. Hilariously, it's Foggy, who wants to contact Matt but can't find him in Florida (where Matt told Foggy he'd be, to avoid secret identity issues). I guess Daredevil must answer the phone in a Mighty Mouse baritone or something because you'd think without the visuals Foggy would recognize Matt's voice as Matt. The Stunt-Master is in the pilot, too. And with a barely defined revenge vs. Daredevil motivation, Stilt-Man shows up and knocks him out in his dressing room. It turns out that in addition to his formidable stilt power, the Stilt-Man is also a master of disguise, rivaling the Chameleon. And of course his big plan is to add stilts to the Stunt-Man's motorcycle. But he doesn't even get to deploy them, because it turns out that the Stilt-Man can't ride a bike. HAHAHAHAHA! Worst! Plan! Ever! Give Friedrich some credit for holding back during the part of the fight where Stilt-Man actually uses his Stilt-Man powers against Daredevil. Not that it's a good showing for the villain. When it's all over, Daredevil issues Karen a clumsy "your career... or me!" ultimatum. Friedrich's scripting makes me appreciate Thomas more.
