Doctor Strange #65
Issue(s): Doctor Strange #65
He's unknowingly invoking a real magical entity called "Pohldahk" which has the potential to cause real trouble. The charlatan's henchman gets a lucky crack at the back of Stephen's head...
...giving him a concussion. This makes it so Strange has to try a sneakier approach, which involves him taking the shape of Morgana Blessing's father.
A well written story by Stern with nice art by Paul Smith.
There's a brief scene where Sara Wolfe mentions that she's finished doing Stephen's taxes and actually managed to get him a slight refund. Considering we've seen him conjure gold out of thin air when he needs money, i imagine doing his taxes can be difficult.
Prior to the charlatan's plot, Dr. Strange prevents a warlord king and his wizard Tymon from invading our world. It's a simple effort for Strange; the point is to show that Dr. Strange is a defender of our dimension and this is the sort of thing he does on a regular basis. The warlord (we don't get his name) is intrigued that such a powerful wizard protects our world and he vows to learn more.

"Pohldahk" is a reference to the British novel/TV series Poldark.

Interesting to see realistic treatment of a head injury here, rather than the traditional thing where people get knocked unconscious and then just get up like they had a nap.

What does Dr. Strange do for a living to get a tax refund? He's not a practicing doctor anymore, is he?
