Review/plot:
I feel like the Hulk's book has been in a bit of a dry spell since the end of Ghosts of the Future, but it's only been five issues since then (#440), and two of those issues were a fun story starring She-Hulk and Doc Samson, and two were Onslaught tie-ins (and one was good and one was pointless). It is true, though, that we haven't yet seen a new direction for the book. One thing we know is that there's going to be a major shake-up, because the Hulk was separated from Banner at the end of Onslaught, and Banner is seemingly dead. We've seen in the past (Hulk #130, Hulk #300, Hulk #320) that separating the Hulk from Banner is untenable. But we don't find out in this issue how it's going to play out yet.
The Hulk, comatose, is being taken prisoner by the army in the aftermath of Onslaught. He briefly becomes super-radioactive, wakes up, and tries to escape. But he's quickly captured again thanks in part to a new army character, a Colonel St. Lawrence.
Janis, held by the Pantheon, also tries to escape. But she's successful and winds up getting picked up by a bunch of hippies, one of whom is the Wild Man (a character referenced in Future Imperfect).
If anyone cares, one thing we learn about Janis is that while the Pantheon detected no superpowers in her and nothing special about her staff, she's able to generate an energy blast when holding the staff.
Not much going on, really. Dry spell it is.
