Marvel Team-Up #73Issue(s): Marvel Team-Up #73 Review/plot: Kerwin is the guy who built the Owl's leg braces in his last appearances. Kerwin has actually sabotaged those braces in that story, and in this issue Kerwin deliberately agitates the Owl so that the pacemaker Kerwin installed short-circuits, leaving the Owl a vegetable. Kerwin, it turns out, is not the guy to fuck with. Spider-Man is definitely depicted as the junior partner in this team-up, leaping before he looks and not having much of a plan whereas DD is cool and calculated. There's also a neat moment where the Owl sends some illusions after the pair and DD is totally unaffected and doesn't even realize what's going on because he's blind. Otherwise, it's a pretty typical issue of non-Claremont team-up; i.e., it's not very good. It's shown in this issue, possibly for the first time, that Murdock can recognize Spider-Man even when he's in his Peter Parker clothes, although he doesn't actually get Peter's name. Peter is trying to set up a will or something for Aunt May with Murdock, but Murdock rushes out early when he hears the Owl's helicopter fly past the window. Peter mentions that the legal service is free (possibly provided through ESU?), and therefore can't complain when Murdock leaves early. Quality Rating: C Chronological Placement Considerations: The MCP places this between Amazing Spider-Man #186-187 and between Daredevil #154-155. References:
