Sub-Mariner #59Issue(s): Sub-Mariner #59 Review/plot: ...the red skinned alien Tamara is captured by Russian fishermen. The Russians were accidentally fishing in US waters so they get boarded by Americans, who find Tamara and bring her to UN. When Namor finds out about this from Namorita, he heads to the UN (personally of course. No diplomatic envoys for Namor). But the UN has asked Thor to guard their strange captive... ...and of course Namor is in no mood to explain anything, so there's a big fight. Thor wins pretty definitively and Namor is dumped back in the sea. He's left considering a full scale invasion. Quality Rating: C Chronological Placement Considerations: Sub-Mariner comics are pushed out of publication sequence due to his Defenders appearances. Also needs to take place during a break in Thor's chronology; placing this after Avengers #112, same gap as Marvel Team-Up #9-11 for him. References:

CommentsMy favorite bit about this one, which you neglect to mention, is the tremendously funny sequence where Namor - after having lamented several times that he has been away from water too long - finds a hose and then he just uses it to spray water at Thor. Then drops it and continues on his way complaining about how he is growing weaker because he's away from any water. Posted by: AF | January 18, 2016 11:57 AM Comments are now closed. |
