Review/plot:
Namor has lost the support of his people after he abandoned his throne after his defeat by Thor last issue. The alien Tamara has been captured by the surface-dwellers (she's held at the UN), but Namor can't raise an army to rescue her. Vashti recruits the mercenary Lorvex to vouch for Namor's army.

Lorvex has a grudge against both Namor and Tamara but he agrees, mainly because he wants to loot the surface world and impress Tamara.

Atlantis launches an attack on New York City, with fantastical machines and sea creatures (memorialized in Marvels #4).

Lorvex of course goes out of control and Namor is forced to halt the invasion to stop him. However, Tamara is rescued and Namor goes to the UN to declare war on the world, although oddly the surface nations decide not to attack. His challenge to the surface world successful, he retakes his throne in Atlantis. Seems a bit counter-intuitive to me.

Comments

In compressed Marvel time, how often does Namor lose the throne of Atlantis by coup or abdication? Like every two weeks?

Likewise, how often has Atlantis attacked New York City?
