Thunderstrike #9Issue(s): Thunderstrike #9 Review/plot: As Thunderstrike, Eric later goes to Avengers mansion for advice, but unfortunately for him it's Henry Pym who is there and you don't want his advice on anything family related. Gee thanks! "Although Lord knows I've tried." Thunderstrike also finds out that his ex-wife Marcy sent the Avengers a bill for the damage he did to her apartment last issue. Thunderstrike tells Crystal that he'll pay for it (despite the Avengers having a fund for that sort of thing). Crystal also repeats the concern that the Black Knight had for the Executioner's old axe that Thunderstrike is storing, but Thunderstrike continues to keep it "safe" on his own. Meanwhile, Bobby Steele has gotten all the steroids out of his system and he insists on going to a party that Eric is throwing. Jackie Lukus is also attending the party, and during the party someone finds the axe. Eric hears the transformation and goes to investigate as Thunderstrike. Bloodaxe knows Thunderstrike's secret ID, and Thunderstrike runs through the possibilities of Bloodaxe's identity. Thunderstrike tries to tell Bloodaxe that they are under the sway of the axe. He also loses his grip on his mace and turns back into Eric. Bloodaxe declines to kill him, but says that it's the last time they'll do so. Eric rushes back to the party, hoping to determine by process of elimination who Bloodaxe is. But everyone has already gone home except for Samantha Joyce, and Eric kicks himself for having to suspect all of his friends. CommentsI loved this series. I knew from the get-go that Jackie Lucas was Bloodaxe. It was pretty obvious from the first issue of the storyline in THOR #449. Jackie's talking to Susan, asking her about Leena Moran, and then a shadowy figure approaches Leena's door a few pages later. Never fell for the red herrings. I wouldn't mind seeing her again these days, but I doubt anyone would think of using her. Posted by: Andrew Burke | February 22, 2018 3:02 PM So is that Old Lady Rogue in the 1st scan? Posted by: Terry | February 22, 2018 6:08 PM Fnord, stop picking on Hank! Posted by: Michael | February 22, 2018 8:28 PM Crystal says, "A few months ago you asked the Black Knight to analyze an enchanted battle ax which you had required? Whatever became of it?". So i don't think it would affect placement either way. Posted by: fnord12 | February 22, 2018 8:55 PM Comments are now closed. |
