Young Men Comics #25 (Human Torch)Issue(s): Young Men Comics #25 (Human Torch story only) Review/plot: Now, part of the confusion here may be due to the title. Young Men Comics #24 was also entitled "The return of ... the Human Torch" and was by Chapman and Burgos. The Human Torch apparently returned twice in the span of three months (Young Men was bi-monthly). Despite the title, there's no actual returning here. The plot of this issue is a wave of crime by young men coupled with a disappearance of all the old people. And it turns out that a criminal is offering rejuvenation in return for performing some crimes for him. Even if you get caught, he reasons, you'll spend 10 years or so in jail but you're getting like 50 years back to it's still totally worth it. The Torches wonder why the guy doesn't just offer his services for pay legally, since it's clearly technology that would be in demand. And it turns out that the device really causes the people to crumble into dust after thirty days. Toro's Uncle Julius is one of the men lured into the agreement. It's not said whether Julius is Toro's genetic uncle or related to the fire-eaters who adopted him. CommentsIt's Ayers. Ayers Human Torch stories that he drew and inked have his signature; Torch stories drawn by Ayers and inked by Ernie Bache don't.
