The Marvel Universe continues to solidify, almost entirely under the scripting of Stan Lee, with very little variety in artists as well (Kirby, Heck, Dikto). Dikto and Kirby begin to get credit for plotting (which they may have deserved all along) and Stan begins to get billing as "Editor" in addition to scripts.

There is a slight increase in multi-part stories, mainly in the FF. There is also the anomoly of the huge Dr. Strange epic in Strange Tales #130-144.

Other significant events this year include the death of Baron Zemo I, the first major change in the Avenger's line-up, Peter Parker's high school graduation, the wedding of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Girl, the discovery of the Savage Land, the formation of the Frightful Four, and the discovery of the Inhumans.
