I can't tell you how much it warms my soul to read this in the Guardian Weekly: Exxon Mobil set a new corporate profits record, chalking up annual figures of $36.13bn, 42% up on the previous year despite $18bn spent in share buybacks. The price on a barrel of oil may keep going up, but luckily ExxonMobil is gouging you, the consumer, so much that it more than makes up for their increased expenditure.
