Avengers #197Issue(s): Avengers #197 Review/plot: They are a kind of pay-off for people like me who have been following these characters for decades, through all sorts of silly plots...and like to see them just sitting around talking to each other. Wonder-Man and the Beast go out on the town... ...Jocasta is offered full membership, the Vision is still upset about Wanda having left the team, and Jocasta kind of puts the moves on the Vision. Also, a scientist hijacks Red Ronin, the giant battlesuit designed to fight Godzilla... ...and the Scarlet Witch takes Ms. Marvel to the hospital after she passes out during a discussion in which Ms. Marvel states that being a super-hero is much more fulfilling than having a baby... ...only to find out that Carol is 3 months pregnant. Quality Rating: B Chronological Placement Considerations: This issue starts with the Avengers having just returned from the Taskmaster battle (and getting stuck in the elevator on the way down from the roof). Ant-Man is still with them at that point. Wonder Man and the Beast are still on their double date at the end of this issue. References:

Posted by: Erik Beck | April 21, 2015 12:43 PM Well, Perez was awesome but he wasn't great with deadlines. An old warhorse like Infantino could always be counted on to punch hit in a hurry. Posted by: JP | May 29, 2015 1:05 PM The elevator scene is lifted from the Avengers novel "The Man Who Stole Tomorrow." Only a few issues later, they adapted the short story "This Evil Undying" from the "Marvel Super-Heroes" anthology entry in that novel series.
