Avengers #203

Issue(s): Avengers #203
Cover Date: Jan 81
Title: "Night of the Crawlers"
Credits:
David Michelinie - Writer
Carmine Infantino - Penciler
Dan Green - Inker

Review/plot:
This is a weird little story dealing with Wonder Man and the Beast on their own adventure, which occurred while the rest of the team was fighting Ultron last issue.

It's got a fill-in story quality to it, possibly due to the Carmine Infantino guest art. Not that Infantino's art is bad; it fits the moody, creepy sci-fi/horror aspects of the story just fine.

It just doesn't feel like an Avengers story.

Quality Rating: C+

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: This starts with the Avengers returning home directly from their fight with Ultron, so there shouldn't be any Avengers appearances between #202 and #203. Most of this story actually occurs in flashback, simultaneous to the Ultron fight.

Peut-être le résultat graphique aurait-été un peu plus "agréable, s'il n'y avait l'encrage lourdingue de Dan Green. Celui-ci n'aura laissé guère de bons souvenirs, du moins dans cette série.

Translation of Denis' comment, courtesy of Babelfish"

"Perhaps the graphical result would - be a little more \"agreable, brother ' it only 'was l\' clunky inking of Dan Green. It only ' will left little memories, at least in this series."

Even if the Crawlers were actually malevolent, Wonder Man would still have been overpowered for this story.

Weird, crazy story! Did it actually even happen?

This is just a cleaner translation of Denis' comment per Google translate -

Perhaps the graphic result would have been a little more "nice, if there was no heavy inking of Dan Green, who will have left no good memories, at least in this series.
