Captain America #427Issue(s): Captain America #427 Review/plot: Also in the meantime, Diamondback is getting legal advice from Bernie Rosenthal regarding the death of Snapdragon. Bernie's ex, Sam Bernstein, bursts into the meeting ranting and begging Bernie to get back together with him. Later we see the still-unidentified Super-Patriot returning to the apartment where Dead Ringer is healing after their last staged fight (he's transformed into Blue Streak because Blue Streak's super-speed apparently also granted super fast healing). The Patriot is upset after having just run into someone that he knew, which reopened old wounds. He's wearing a different style shirt than Bernstein, though. Later, Dead Ringer kidnaps Bernie and Diamondback using the powers of Blackout. Diamondback manages to get into costume and fights back. And Quicksilver arrives soon after that. Dead Ringer changes from Blackout to Blue Streak. Cap arrives a bit later and fights Super-Patriot. But Cap is not supposed to be exerting himself, and Super-Patriot manages to shoot Cap with a gun. However, he's worried about looking bad to Bernie. The fighting has caused a fire, and the Patriot gets trapped under a beam. Cap exerts himself to lift the beam, and the Super-Patriot disappears while Cap's arms seize up. Dead Ringer/Blue Streak is captured, but it's not known what has happened to the Super-Patriot. Bernie is afraid that she knows who the Patriot is, but she figures she might as well not say anything until it's determined whether or not he died in the fire. Quality Rating: C- Chronological Placement Considerations: In #428, we first see Cap and Diamondback at a police station interrogating Dead Ringer with Lt. Marcus Stone of Code Blue. It doesn't necessarily have to take place on the same day as this issue. References:

Posted by: Michael | March 15, 2018 8:51 PM He changed into Death Adder twice too, once when they first dug up the grave, and then again during the fight with the Resistants. Posted by: fnord12 | March 15, 2018 9:00 PM The handbooks also introduced a "retcon" that actually Dead Ringer can just turn into anyone by touching some of their dead cells (skin, etc.) to wash away the fact that most the guys he turned into turned up alive. But it doesn't fix it at all, we see him with actual parts of the remains of people who turned up alive without say a finger missing.
