Review/plot:
Digital review warning.

In addition to the five listed inkers, "Moyer" and "Scum" are thanks for an "art assist". Clearly all that help was worth it, though, because it made it possible to deliver this:

Hell yeah! MODOK's back, and this time he didn't skip leg day!

MODOK blasts away Fake Bucky and leaves. Cap is soon found by Falcon.

Meanwhile, the AIM Adaptoids are kinda funny. Human or not, henchmen are gonna be goony.

We learn that some of the Adaptoid AIM Agents are going rogue due to Cosmic Cube energy flares, and that's where Bucky and similar weird characters (Red Guardian, Madison Taylor) are coming from. Also the whole planet is going to blow up if MODOK doesn't succeed where MODAM has apparently failed and repair the Cube. Meanwhile, the Red Skull learns what we already know, that Alessandro Brannex is actually the Super-Adaptoid. Oops!

Superia's cure wears off. Falcon brings Cap back to Superia, who says that her cure was only a sample. She'll give him the full cure if he'll agree to her demands. But then he's hit by a Cosmic Cube beam, and it gives him his desire, which is to get his armor back. He uses it to give a hand to MODOK.

No lettercol, and therefore no Reference endnotes, this issue. Which is a common problem with lettercols, and i believe this was the downfall of the attempt to do the endnotes circa 2000 as well (they also tried doing them as interior gatefold covers, if i remember, but that was more expensive; anyway, we'll get to that). There aren't really any specific references but i'll list a few things in the spirit of the previous two endnotes.

Quality Rating: C

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: This is part three of Taking AIM. Part four is in Avengers #388.

References:

  • MODOK died in Captain America #313.
  • Black Widow's husband, the Red Guardian, is from Avengers #43-44.
  • Taylor Madison was revealed to be a construct of Zeus in Avengers #384.
  • Diamondback has been working with Superia since Captain America #433.
  • She's dressed as Snapdragon because Snapdragon was originally working for Superia until Diamondback killed her in Captain America #412. That was also the arc where we learned that Brannex is really the Super-Adaptoid.

Crossover: Taking AIM
