Review/plot:
Wow, this is pretty good. Why don't i have more of these Denny O'Neil Daredevils? Got 'em all. And they're all good.

We've got Daredevil teaming up with the Kingpin to take down Micah Synn's Kinjorge tribe.

Despite Synn's evolution in this storyline, we see he still retains some of his uncivilized savagery. It doesn't stop him from being such a threat that the Kingpin and Daredevil need to form an alliance, however.

As Matt Murdock, DD is also trying to get at Synn legally, and has Becky confirm that she saw Synn's people kill the fake Vanessa Fisk last issue, but things don't go so well when Foggy claims that Matt is lying.

When i reviewed this issue without having read the previous issues, i wrote this: "It turns out that Foggy's wife Debbie is smitten with Synn, in a way that's so obliviously obvious that i wonder if some form of drugs or hypnosis was involved."

No hypnosis. She's just really fallen for Synn in a way that's demeaning.

She's the reason Foggy lied. She left Foggy and told him she wouldn't come back if he didn't cover for Synn. And now she's finding out that being with Synn isn't what she thought it would be (based on his treatment of her so far, it shouldn't be a surprise, but i think the point is to say something about her character).

Synn's sponsor, Professor Horatio Piper, has been in the background in these issues, but in this issue we're seeing a turning point for him as he realizes (or is forced to admit to himself) how brutal Synn really is.

I'm not sure i can get behind the 'stache Foggy is still sporting in these issues.

Very nice art by David Mazzucchelli

Comments

David Mazzuccheli was an artistic chameleon; he seemed to deliberately change his style in every different book he drew(though he was good at it).
