Review/plot:
Dazzler and her band get a gig on the west coast supporting a famous musician named Bruce Harris. The Blue Shield, in his civilian identity as east coast mafioso Joe Cartelli has also flown across the country to see Dazzler perform. The west coast mob decides to try to have him assassinated.

Dazzler foils the sniper attempt from the stage.

The mob has a brainwashed She-Hulk on their side...

...and they send her after Dazzler and her stage manager Lance Steele, who they assume is the Blue Shield. Eventually Dazzler is able to get through to She-Hulk...

...and defeat the mob.

Bruce Harris is unhappy because Dazzler's opening act was more popular than his act.

This comic is a bit... simple, but it's nice to see the She-Hulk being kept out of obscurity.

Actually i love Dazzler and She-Hulk driving down the road in a mac truck.

No panty shots this issue, but it makes up for it with two Go For Its.

Quality Rating: C

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: Moving this issue back in publication time to account for the Enchantress' appearance in Defenders #107-109, which must occur after Dazzler #16. Also needs to take place after She-Hulk #25.

References:

  • The Blue Shield previously appeared in Dazzler #5
  • There's been chaos in the LA underworld since the head of the west coast mafia was arrested in She-Hulk #25.
  • Dazzler met the She-Hulk's cousin in Dazzler #6-7.
