Deadly Hands of Kung Fu: Special Album Edition #1

Issue(s): Deadly Hands of Kung Fu: Special Album Edition #1
Cover Date: 1974
Title: "The master plan of Fu Manchu! / Chapter 1: Iron Fist / Chapter 2: Sons of the Tiger / Chapter 3: The hands of Shang Chi, Master of Kung Fu / Epilogue"
Credits:
Tony Isabella / Doug Moench / Chris Claremont - Writer
John Buscema / Frank McLaughlin / Herb Trimpe / Mike Vosburg - Penciler
John Buscema / Crusty Bunkers / Herb Trimpe / Dan Adkins - Inker

Review/plot:
Crusty Bunkers was a collective of inkers run by Neal Adams.

Points for having a single, full length (aside from text pieces) story featuring all of Marvel's various kung fu characters going up against Fu Manchu.

Demerits for never having any of the characters actually meet each other.

Quality Rating: C

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: The MCP places this plus Shang Chi's appearances in Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #4-11 between Master of Kung Fu #21-22.

  • There's a reference to an ongoing plot regarding the Sons of the Tiger and the Silent Ones, with references to Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #1, Deadly Hands of Kung Fu 3, and Deadly Hands of Kung Fu #4.
