Defenders #92Issue(s): Defenders #92 Review/plot: In this case, it's pieces of Eternity. Apparently Eternity decided to send some pieces of himself down to Earth so that they can experience mortality and humanity. It was with the intention that they be re-absorbed back into Eternity, but it turns out they don't want to go back, so Eternity asks the Defenders to retrieve the pieces before the universe falls apart due to Eternity having parts missing. Strange summons a number of former Defenders, including the Sub-Mariner, the Silver Surfer, and Daimon Hellstrom to help with the quest. The Silver Surfer refuses to answer the summons, but the other two do. As is often the case, the best part of this issue is seeing the Hulk interact with the other heroes. Quality Rating: C+ Chronological Placement Considerations: Hulk is still with the Defenders at the beginning and end of this issue. References:

Sorta the definitive Defenders team for me. Strange, Namor, Hulk, Surfer, Valkyrie, Nighthawk, Hellcat, Hellstorm, Gargoyle and Devil-Slayer. Maybe it's the fact that it's basically the "main" Defenders characters (and Devil-Slayer) or maybe it's from the countless Marvel Team-Ups from this period that I read with them showing up. I do feel Gerber's team is a close runner-up. It's just the case that it's really lacking Hellcat, a subsequent mainstay. Posted by: AF | January 8, 2016 4:54 AM Comments are now closed. |
