Doom 2099 #43Issue(s): Doom 2099 #43 Review/plot: Yep, it was pretty cool back then. Doom 2099 has been captured by Angular Doom and More-Angular-Than-Usual Namor. Present day Doom unmasks Doom 2099 to confirm that he's not his future version. And he doesn't have Doom's face (we only see it in shadow). But removing the mask triggers a defensive mechanism that allows Doom 2099 to take control of the ship. He doesn't take vengeance on Doom or Namor, instead telling Doom to try to save Latveria. Then he says that he's going to use the Shi'ar Stargate to fling himself back into the future. When Doom is flying back through time, he's confronted with a memory from his past, of his mother being killed by a "wave spider". He then arrives back in his own timeline, a month after he left, his body purged of the crab venom. His efforts have allowed some Latverians to survive, albeit as "mutalocos". Gronk! And while Doom is contemplating that and the other changes that have occurred in his timeline, he's interrupted for his next scheduled crossover. But now we're way beyond the scope of my project. Quality Rating: D Chronological Placement Considerations: Continues from Fantastic Four #413. References:
