Doctor Strange #30

Issue(s): Doctor Strange #30
Cover Date: Aug 78
Title: "A gathering of fear!"
Credits:
Roger Stern - Writer
Tom Sutton - Penciler
Tom Sutton - Inker

Review/plot:
Similar to last issue, this issue is in the theme of the original Ditko issues, with Dr. Strange investigating mystical mysteries. He is contacted by the police to investigate some sewer worker disappearances.

The threat turns out to be a creature called the Dweller in Darkness.

Strange agrees to bring Clea along for the investigation this time, after a spat.

It's a good thing, too, because Stephen is initially captured by the Dweller in Darkness' minions.

The Dweller itself never actually appears in this dimension; it is only acting through minions, and Strange doesn't know exactly why the disturbances in the sewer have occurred.

The art is extra sloppy; i assume because Sutton is inking himself.

Comments

FOOM#22 stated that Stern wanted to use Dr. Druid in this title and give us a "final" Scarecrow story.
