Doctor Strange #48Issue(s): Doctor Strange #48 Review/plot: This issue has Dr. Strange breaking up a mundane bank robbery... ...but in the process one of the bankers, Morgana Blessing, is able to see his astral form. Later, Dr. Strange is contacted by Brother Voodoo. He says he needs help with the voodoo spirit named Damballah, but Strange is suspicious, and it turns out that Voodoo himself is possessed by Damballah. Damballah escapes and possesses a snake, transforming it into a demonic shape. Strange eventually hunts it down... ...and stops it. Brother Voodoo doesn't get a very good showing in this issue. He starts off possessed, and Strange sidelines him for the fight against Damballah. In the end, Voodoo has to say that there are 'some forces which only a true master of the mystic arts can overcome', and then when he disappears with his smoke teleportation act, Strange tells Clea that's he's probably really just climbing up the chimney. It's an odd discrediting of the character; i guess it's just a way to wrap up his story and send him off into limbo. Quality Rating: B- Chronological Placement Considerations: Pushed forward a bit in publication time to allow for other Doctor Strange appearances in Micronauts and Marvel Team-Up.
