Dr. Strange annual #3 (back-up)Issue(s): Dr. Strange annual #3 (Mordo/Sara Wolfe back-up only) Review/plot: ![]() ![]() ![]() For what it's worth, Mordo does say that Sara is "mesmerizing". It's part of a ruse, but i guess it does lay the retroactive groundwork for their sort-of romance during Roy Thomas' run. ![]() The point of the story is that Dr. Strange knows full well that Mordo will attack - and that he can be stopped by having Sara turn off the TV - but he wanted Sara to learn a lesson in "persistence" since Mordo continually tries to attack Dr. Strange even though he always fails. Kind of a crappy way to depict Baron Mordo. But, hey, it's a crappy story all the way around. Quality Rating: D Chronological Placement Considerations: The opening narration just says that this takes place "long before Doctor Strange was stripped of his power and the insidious Baron Mordo ruled the Dark Dimension". I assume the latter is a reference to when he co-ruled the Dark Dimension with Umar, which ended in Doctor Strange #48-50, same as Doc's power loss. It's unclear where Mordo is supposed to be in this story, except that he's "across dimensions". The MCP place this all the way back before 1986's Doctor Strange #76, which i'm following. It definitely seems like it should take place before 1989's Doctor Strange #5-8 when Mordo and Sara start their flirtation or whatever it is. References: N/A Crossover: N/A Continuity Insert?
