Fantastic Four #248Issue(s): Fantastic Four #248 Review/plot: ![]() They've decided to name the girl Luna in honor of their new home. ![]() But the majority of this issue is a dream (or nightmare) sequence. It's triggered by the fact that Triton has discovered a strange alien artifact deep in the underground rivers (!) of the moon. ![]() We are privy to Reed's nightmare, which involves a giant alien that is so huge he isn't even aware of the existence of the FF. ![]() In the course of the encounter, the rest of the FF is killed. Reed is analytical throughout the dream, recognizing that impossible things are happening... ![]() ...but it's when he gets emotional about the death of his wife that he's able to truly reject the nightmare, which gives Triton the ability to destroy the artifact. This is a cool Twilight Zone-ish type of story similar to Byrne's first year on the FF. Quality Rating: B+ Chronological Placement Considerations: Fantastic Four #249-250 has to take place before Uncanny X-Men #167. In order for that to happen, a number of FF arcs have to be pushed backwards in publication time. Takes place before the Vision & Scarlet Witch mini series.
