Fantastic Four #7Issue(s): Fantastic Four #7 Review/plot: The story is that the Heroes Reborn Fantastic Four are exploring the Negative Zone, except when they get there, the Watcher preempts the regularly scheduled attack by Blastaar and instead shows them scenes from their past lives. The above is of course from Fantastic Four vs. X-Men. The scene that the Human Torch sees is his marriage to Alicia Masters, which is, uh, an interesting choice. The Invisible Woman sees a scene of Agatha Harkness taking Franklin Richards (wearing his 4 1/2 shirt) for a walk in the park. Not sure if that's from a specific comic like the others. The Thing doesn't get a scene. The idea seems to be that the Watcher is doing this to prepare the FF for the coming of Galactus. The implication seems to be that the coming of Galactus coincides with the end of the Heroes Reborn universe, which was an idea that i had in my head as being true while re-reading this. That isn't really the case though, which makes me wonder what was the point of Uatu's actions here (other than to get Wolverine on the cover, of course). Quality Rating: D Chronological Placement Considerations: The MCP list the real versions of Blastaar and Uatu as appearing here. It's definitely not meant to be the real Blastaar (unless he also secretly sacrificed himself during Onslaught); he doesn't recognize the FF. It seems pretty clear it's not the original Uatu, either; he says that he normally doesn't interfere but is making his first exception here. References:
