Review/plot:
Blackout returns. He's been wandering around in a state of shock since the defeat of Lilith, but he's fully conscious again and ready to reclaim his nice apartment and celebrate the fact that his face has healed.

Meanwhile, Danny Ketch has been trying to resist the transformation back into Ghost Rider when innocent blood is spilled, but Caretaker shows up to urge him on. And soon he has a confrontation with Blackout. Blackout tries to negotiate a truce...

...but of course Ghost Rider isn't having it. So Blackout runs away.

This issue also has the results of the survey from issue #48. If the responses disturb you, you can take some heart in remembering that it's only a survey of the people who didn't realize how awful this series was at this point and were still reading it.

I would like to see 13% less character development!

Salvador Larroca began as a Jim Lee copycat?

The people who wrote in the Orb know what's up.

81% wanted a Ghost Rider and Gambit team-up, trailing only Wolverine.

Gambit.

-sigh-

The dark days be truly upon us.

The best part is we JUST got both of those team-ups! Truly the Marvel Age of Excess!

I’m kind of impressed by the survey results. Sure, there’s ‘90s excess in there, but it’s nice to see the Skrulls get some play, and Dr. Doom is still the king of the supervillains, if not quite top of the poll. Deservedly good showing for Loki, who’d make suitable adversary for GR. I give a lot of credit to the 9 percent who wrote in Juggernaut; that could be a interesting battle if the penance stare doesn’t work. Of course, practically anyone vs. the Juggernaut is good for at least one story.

Ghost Rider vs Thanos. What were those people thinking in the pole?

Posted by: Mquinn1976 | June 30, 2018 2:19 PM

In the North Pole, they were thinking it would be a good Christmas gift. In the South Pole, the polls were filled with write-ins for Garokk, the Petrified Man.
