CommentsThe title is probably taken from the 1968 zombie film "Night of the Living Dead". Posted by: Mark Drummond | August 25, 2011 2:03 PM The title is a reference to Man-Thing #12 (also written by Steve Gerber), "Song-Cry of the Living-Dead Man", another story about a character having an existential crisis. (Ted Sallis, aka Man-Thing, is listed as "consulting schizo" on the splash page). "Night of the Living Dead" was used for a story title by Steve Gerber, but it was Man-Thing #5 ("Night of the Laughing Dead"). Posted by: Rob A | October 18, 2013 4:18 PM Such excellent work from Gerber. Posted by: Mizark | July 21, 2016 4:56 AM The outro punchline is probably swiped from the Kilgore Trout novel Venus on the Half Shell.
