Howard wakes from his fever dream, still hearing voices in his head. He abandons Beverly in Canada and gets on a bus back to Cleveland. Kidney Lady is on the bus...
...and he gets into a fight with her and some cult peddlers.
Winda Wester, a girl with a funny voice, is also on the bus...
...and she gets arrested along with Howard.

Winda is a takeoff of Linda Blair, formerly child star of "The Exorcist."
So is Winda's name really Winda Wester? Or is it Linda Lester?
Everybody else in the book calls her Winda, so i guess that's her real name.
That's a wathah singuwah appewation.
Maybe they're just being powite.
I would assume that her name was Linda Lester especially considering Walter's comment.
