Issue(s): Hulk #116, Hulk #117
Cover Date: Jun-Jul 69
Title: "The eve of... annihilation" / "World's end?"
Credits:
Stan Lee - Writer
Herb Trimpe - Penciler
Dan Adkins / Herb Trimpe - Inker

Review/plot:
Hulk trapped in stupid Leader box since last issue. Leader build stupid Super Humanoid robot to guard Hulk.

Stupid humans don't realize Leader want to take over their base. Betty frees Hulk but Hulk doesn't trust her.

Hulk doesn't trust Herb Trimpe, either. Trimpe make Hulk look like old man in that picture.

Hulk smashes stupid Super Humanoid. Hulk knows he isn't brightest carrot in the bunch, but what does Humanoid mean when he says he can't talk but his words are "verbal symbols". Doesn't "verbal symbols" mean words?

Hulk throws stupid robot in volcano and then to be totally sure, he smashes volcano. Puny Leader runs away before Hulk can smash him too. Betty tells Hulk to stop missile, so Hulk does it, but falls in big water.

Quality Rating: C-

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: The Hulk starts this issue trapped in the Leader's prison, and ends it floating in the Atlantic (He will be picked up by Lady Dorma next issue), so basically there can be no Hulk guest appearances before or after this issue.

Comments

Haydn like Hulk-style comments on stupid story. But Haydn think Stan Lee give Hulk too many big words. Hulk sound like puny Banner!
