Hulk #190-191Issue(s): Hulk #190, Hulk #191 Review/plot: Then a golden skinned hippie named Glorian floats down from heaven on a rainbow and takes Hulk to a happy place. Glorian is working for the Shaper of Worlds, almost like a herald works for Galactus. Glorian finds people for the Shaper to make happy. Glorian is actually Thomas Gideon, who was taken away by the Shaper of Worlds in Fantastic Four #137, but that is not indicated here. In fact, Glorian just seems to be someone that the Shaper happens to have crossed paths with and the two set up a mutual relationship. In his happy world, the Hulk meets Jarella, and a truly awful character named Crackajack. And he gets to eat all the beans he could ever want. Then the Toad Men invade the planet... ...and the Hulk and his friends are given to the Toad Queen. They also try to get the Shaper's power, but the Hulk and Glorian put a stop to it. However, the Hulk finds out that his 'friends' are actually slugs modified by the Shaper of World's illusions. The Hulk rightly chooses to remain unhappy in the real world than to live a slug-sex lie. Interesting and bizarre story. Quality Rating: C- Chronological Placement Considerations: The Hulk is still in Siberia. Hulk #184-193 take place between Giant-Size Defenders #3-4. References:
