Review/plot:
This issue is plotted by Peter John Palmer. Who is that?

Tony Stark heads to London to check out instances of sabotage in his UK office. He hooks up with an attractive book publisher, Sybil Carmichal, who wants him to write an autobiography so she can publish it. She seems willing to go to bed with him for it.

Tony leaves thinking "Tony, m'man, something tells me that if you play your cards right Big Ben isn't going to be the only one getting his chimes rung this trip."

The rest of the issue is down to business. The head of security in the UK branch assumes right off the bat that he's going to be fired. In fact it turns out that he's paranoid schizophrenic, and he's been dressing up as a villain named Endotherm...

...and performing the sabotage himself, all in an attempt to lure Stark to England so that he can kill Stark to prevent Stark from firing him...

Iron Man handles him via two key pieces of technology. The first, of course, is roller skates.

The second is a weird ice shield that prevents Endotherm from draining any heat from him.

It's all handled pretty well. Endotherm is both a little too cheesy and at the same time a little too powerful, but in the end it's not a bad story. Not quite up to the Layton issues.

Peter John Palmer sounds suspiciously like a pseudonym.

Peter Palmer is Spider-Man's secret identity, as revealed in Amazing Spider-Man #1.;)

But seriously I'm curious and wish someone would ask David Michelinie. There was a Peter John Palmer credited with scripting a 3 page short story in DC's "The Unexpected #202," also published in 1980. https://www.comics.org/issue/34674/

Wouldn't it be cool if he turned out to be this guy, whose middle name isn't given in either of these two on-line bios. Not terribly likely but wouldn't it be cool. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Palmer and https://sabr.org/about/pete-palmer
