Review/plot:
Morley Erwin and James Rhodes turn in their termination letters to Obadiah Stane. Rhodey already quit once as Iron Man, but he gets to do it again as Rhodey. The two contemplate forming their own company.

The conversation gets him thinking about the vortex he discovered when he was getting Indries Moomji out of the Daughters of Ishtar. He decides to return to it, and finds an ancient alien defending a portal to another dimension from an invasion.

He helps it out.

Meanwhile, Tony Stark is living in a cardboard box on the street.

Comments

Very good issue, the whole giant alien was creepy, and weird, and writing sci fi has not been one of O'Neil's strongpoints, but it is passable as a story device. The art is fine, nothing spectacular. The real drama here is in the evolution of Rhodey, and also Stark. The drunk is interesting and has a lot to say about life etc, which Tony reflects on (and the reader). It is a well written comic book.
