Review/plot:
Justice investigates the Adrenamix Corporation, a chemical research company and one of the holdings of Anderson Gaulthing. He confirms that the company is a "breeding facility for genetic experiments on runaway children". He tries to destroy the facility, but he's attacked by some products of it.

We then flash back to Justice visiting Captain America at Avengers Mansion earlier in the day. Cap let Justice train a bit with his shield (unclear if it's a deliberate follow-up to Guardians of the Galaxy #31 or if this is just Easter Egg foreshadowing).

Post-flashback, Justice forms a telekinetic version of the shield.

He then fights the Adrenamix kids (i refuse to call them by their team name, the "Psigns of the Times"). The fight halts when he mentions Alison Gaulthing.

But the big guy (who looks like Ajax of the Pantheon) says that he doesn't want to take the blame for what happened, so he keeps fighting. But he eventually convinces them all to tell their story about what happened to Alison, i.e. that they were ordered by Anderson to chase Alison, causing her to die. Anderson is arrested. The Adrenamix kids are sent to Project Pegasus for study (and they never appear again). There's said to still be one more kid out there.

Also in this issue, Firestar convinces Justice's mom to try to reconcile with him.

Quality Rating: C

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: The flashback with Captain America takes place "eight hours earlier", close enough to the main story for me to count Cap as appearing. A week passes before the end of the issue.

References:

  • Justice tried to join the Avengers in New Warriors #1.
  • Justice gets through to the Adrenamix kids by telling them how he turned his life around after serving his time after killing his father in New Warriors #19-20.
