Ka-Zar the Savage #16Issue(s): Ka-Zar the Savage #16 Review/plot: ![]() But due to the manipulations of a pair of aliens... ![]() ...Ka-Zar watches Shanna die. ![]() After fighting through the alien's scenarios... ![]() ...they reveal that it's all just a game they play, and they turn back time. ![]() Seeing her death makes Ka-Zar realize that he loves Shanna. ![]() Simple and a little cliched, and it could have come out really poorly, but it's actually good. After all the fighting that's been going on between Ka-Zar and Shanna, it's nice to see that things will get back on track. But it's still a little contrived, as opposed to just having them work out their differences. And Brent Anderson is no longer on art. This issue is by Ron Frenz. ![]() But there will be no permanent artist on the book for the rest of Bruce Jones' run. So we're seeing the start of the decline of what was previously Marvel's best book by a significant factor. But we've still got a ways to go, and it's still very good. Quality Rating: B Chronological Placement Considerations: Ka-Zar and company return to the Savage Land proper at the end of this issue, allowing room for his appearance in Marvel Fanfare #3-4.
