Review/plot:
A protest in front of a Korean grocery store in a black neighborhood gets violent, and who of all characters should be there to break it up? USAgent.

USAgent follows the instigator to a warehouse where he meets the guy behind it all. A guy called the Peacemonger.

Why the Peacemonger instead of a Hatemonger? Well, it's a little convoluted.

But USAgent is a sociopath that doesn't feel emotions (ok, that's not what the script says), so there's nothing for Peacemonger to feed off of.

That sure looks like hatred in his face while he's punching the guy in the second to last panel.

Every two weeks, Marvel Comics Presents found a new way to bewilder us.

Quality Rating: D

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: As Michael notes in the comments, Scott Lobdell also gave us a Peacemonger, or at least a Peace Monger, in Marvel Comics Presents #27. There's nothing here attempting to tie the two together (let alone a footnote), and the characters look completely different, but i guess maybe the idea could be that the Peacemonger is a psychic entity that can possess people or something. I've tagged them as the same character.

Is zero stars an option?

Fnord, I think the Peacemonger in this story is supposed to be the same one from the American Eagle story in Marvel Comics Presents 27- it's a black guy who absorbs hatred, and Lobdell wrote the American Eagle story.
A right-wing Southerner beating up black people and telling them not to hate has Unfortunate Implications.

Thanks Michael. I've tagged the character and added a note in the Considerations.

This was an attempt to lighten up the character of John Walker, nothing more

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Good thing I never had stomach for John Walker in the first place. And that I am no fan of Lobdell.
