Marvel Comics Presents #11 (Ant-Man)
Issue(s): Marvel Comics Presents #11 (Ant-Man story only)
Cassie Lang has dropped a ring, an heirloom from her grandma, down the sink, and Scott Lang has gotten into Ant-Man gear to get it back.
But Cassie doesn't know that her dad is Ant-Man, so when she sees a "bug" climbing out of the drain, she turns on the water to flush it back down. So Ant-Man has to fight his way through garbage disposals...
...and rats before returning to Cassie with the ring.

The "easy" stories to do with shrinking heroes are exactly the ones you can't do if you want the hero to be respectable. Instead of finding situations where the shrunken hero is at a disadvantage, the writer needs to find where it is an advantage (preferably allowing the hero to solve the problem that could not be done at normal height).
This often means sneaking around, but I'm sure a creative writer could find lots of other means. However, most comics writers - even ones with some skill in the craft - are hacks. So it is no surprise none of the shrinking heroes have ever truly been successful.
