Review/plot:
This is the last in a run of unrelated Iron Fist stories in Marvel Comics Presents. I continue to be surprised about the fact that they're unrelated. It's not just a case of each writer ignoring (or presumably not being aware of) the work of the previous writers, but even when we've had the same writers, there's been no "continuity". Joey Cavalieri set up some major changes for Iron Fist and then did nothing with them when he came back to the character a few issues later. And last issue, John Figueroa and Ron Wilson (who is only on inks here) brought in Agent Peck, a character from their previous work on this title with American Eagle, and mentioned something about a case with Dakota North's detective agency. But this story doesn't follow up on that, and it puts a "Detective Nick" in a role that Agent Peck (let alone a more established character like Rafael Scarfe) could easily have played.

Anyway, this story has Iron Fist looking into a drug called Maze which is distributed by a guy called Rave.

The art and coloring fit the drug theme, i guess, but it's kind of annoying.

Iron Fist has to fight his way through the booby-trapped House of Rave.

Like last issue, this barely feels like a story and has a very abrupt ending.

Comments

I wrote in to MCP to tell them that this had to be the absolute worst story that had ever appearing in the series. That tells you just how incredibly bad this story was; even with my much-less-discerning teenage standards I found "House of Rave" to be totally abominable.

To think that all those poor trees were sacrificed so MCP could limp on into mediocrity.

This issue should have come with peyote.
