Review/plot:
Nick Fury goes to the Middle East to retrieve equipment stolen by a SHIELD agent, Dean Haddad. It turns out that Haddad is arming rebels who are opposing an "despotic dictator", Farouk El Amir.

While Fury is discussing the situation with Haddad, Amir's forces attack, and Haddad is killed. After the fight, Fury nonetheless retrieves the equipment and leaves. But when the Amir's forces see the SHIELD craft leaving the rebels, they assume that SHIELD is in cahoots with the rebels and fire on it. Fury makes sure the plane - filled with volatile explosives - crashes in the center of the convoy. And it turns out that this was his plan all along. Although i don't see how taking out one convoy should be such a blow to Amir's forces.

This is another half-baked good idea of a story. Rogue SHIELD agents deciding to fund a rebel faction in the Middle East (maybe while Henry Gyrich or someone was funding another) could have been a major story to explore in a Nick Fury series, but with 8 pages it just feels throwaway. Way too easily resolved.
