Review/plot:
Don McGregor's 25 part Black Panther story is currently running at this time, but McGregor has also found time to plot a short Sub-Mariner story for Jim Lee to draw. And i do mean plot; there's no script. It is 8 pages of Namor discovering pollution in a waterway in Brooklyn.

It's a nice opportunity to show off Jim Lee's expressive side and storytelling capabilities without relying on dialogue and narration to explain things. Personally i found the last page a little unclear, but if i have it right and it's a scene of Namor looking upon even more pollution, then i think it's a decent attempt and a nice break from the usual Marvel Comics Presents stuff.

Comments

The story is unusual in that it was only six pages instead of the normal eight. The Black Panther chapter ran long which might be why MacGregor wrote this as well.

McGregor admitted in his introduction for the "Panther's Quest" collection that this story was the result of him offering to the editor a 6-page story about a character of the editor's choice in order to get the Panther's chapter up to 10 pages.
