Marvel Comics Presents #34 (Captain America)Issue(s): Marvel Comics Presents #34 (Captain America) Review/plot: Captain America is contacted by the Golden Age super-hero the Thin Man. ![]() He's now on the trail of Agent Axis, who was responsible for the destruction of the city where he got his powers, and who now has been smuggled into the US by the CIA, with a parallel to the US support of Nazis during the Cold War. ![]() When they reach the guy that the Thin Man claims is Agent Axis, Cap starts to interview him, but the Thin Man doesn't have time for that. ![]() And it really is Agent Axis, and basically there's nothing Captain America and the Thin Man can do about it. ![]() Well, except strangle him to death. ![]() Cap isn't sure what to do, but he reflexively punches the Nazi. ![]() And that allows the Thin Man to kill him. Cap the tells the Thin Man that he's calling the police on him. ![]() This story will be remembered in the 2004 Invaders series, which shows that Cap did make sure the Thin Man went to trial, but then asked that he be remanded to Avengers custody due to the circumstances. But the Thin Man went crazy at Cap's "boy scout" attitude, so he wound up getting locked up. CommentsThis story did a good job of challenging Cap's morals- the ending where he admits he doesn't know who he would have helped if he would have thought about it is great. Posted by: Michael | November 17, 2014 9:57 PM Comments are now closed. |
