Review/plot:
In the same issue that Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza are finishing up their Wolverine/Wild Child story, they have this Black Widow/Silver Sable vignette. One difference is that Nicieza is credited as the full writer, whereas Rob Liefeld started writing the Wolverine/Wild Child on his own and then Nicieza was brought in to script beginning with part two, with Liefeld still getting plot credit. But despite Nicieza getting the full writing credit on this one, it's very much an art driven story, with very sparse dialogue. And... that actually works very well.

Silver Sable and the Black Widow are after the same guy, culminating in this fight (which, and i know this is a kind of sacrilege, reminds me of Jack Kirby's scene from Yellow Claw #3.

Silver Sable and the Black Widow eventually decide to resolve their conflict with a coin toss, but while they are doing that, their target tries to escape and falls off the building they are on. So they toss the coin again to decide where to go out to eat.

A surprisingly tolerable little story!

Comments

Bob Wiacek deserves a gold medal for making the art half way decent.

That he does. This looks more like Erik Larsen on a good day than Liefeld.

Not bad.
