Review/plot:
Finally Marvel Comics Presents turns its attentions to a character that is underexposed in the Marvel line. For those who don't know, the Punisher is a character that was introduced in Amazing Spider-Man back in the 70s, and since then he's appeared very infrequently. He definitely didn't have two ongoing series plus a plethora of graphic novels and guest appearances at the time this book was published.

This story has a criminal boss named Mr. Ling sending a nine year old boy into a warehouse where he knows that the Punisher is hiding out. Ling thinks that the Punisher will kill the boy and be riddled with guilt. But the Punisher doesn't do that.

Then the Punisher has to fight Ling's real goons.

The boy winds up in trouble with Mr. Ling himself.

But we all know how this will end: the Punisher shoots everyone.

Marc McLaurin did have a good angle there with the boy that Mr. Ling assumed would be killed. But he doesn't really go anywhere with it.

I'm not sure why they are wasting pages on this Punisher fellow...clearly, he's never going to catch on.

The Punisher as in the movie character? He was in comics??

Punisher vol 6 (MAX) would have an arc in witch Jigsaw would attempt to make the Punisher think he had killed a little girl and demoralize him. Kind of reminds me of this.

I know some of the MAX titles are canon to 616, like the Hood and Alias, but to think PunisherMAX was based on a pre-existing character!
