Marvel Comics Presents #69-72 (Daredevil)Issue(s): Marvel Comics Presents #69, Marvel Comics Presents #70, Marvel Comics Presents #71, Marvel Comics Presents #72 (Daredevil story only) Review/plot: Daredevil finds some dogs... ![]() ...that were used in experiments by a company called Ocatagon. Three of the four scientists that conducted those experiments have been killed, and the fourth. Dr. Ellington, has had the results of the process applied to himself, so he now has mental powers. Ellington uses the awesome pseudonym Travis T. Hipp and becomes a DJ on a radio station, and the fear is that he'll use his mental powers to control a mass audience. But the twist is that Ellington uses his powers to send out a wave of peace... ![]() ...before he dies as a result of the experimental process that gave him his powers. In this story, Daredevil is unable to read a computer screen. ![]() That makes sense, except for all those times that he can. The art in these issues is pretty bad... ![]() ...and the story would barely be acceptable as a fill-in in an issue of Daredevil. The twist ending is kind of nice, but this is a case where a single 8 page story could have done the job and given us the same twist. If the goal was to showcase Daredevil to the Marvel Comics Presents audience, i don't think this would have won him any new readers. Quality Rating: D+ Chronological Placement Considerations: The MCP drop this in the same gap for Daredevil as his Marvel Comics Presents #49 story. References: N/A Crossover: N/A Continuity Insert?
