Review/plot:
The Silver Surfer is flying through space when he hears a sound, and yes, he acknowledges that it shouldn't be possible for him to hear a sound in space. He investigates and finds a derelict spaceship.

He's attacked by the corpses of the ship's former passengers.

He fights off the horde of undead, and then learns that the ship itself is causing the wailing sound that attracted his attention. The ship is (somewhat) sentient, and it wants the Silver Surfer to ends its pain. The Surfer refuses to take a life, even for a mercy killing, but the ship is somehow able to use the Surfer's power for itself to end its life.

The ending is a cheat. Presenting the Silver Surfer with a dilemma and then solving it without his input makes the dilemma pointless, and it also makes the Surfer merely an observer in his own story. A set-up involving a derelict space ship is always potentially interesting, but it's downhill after that.

Comments

Having someone use your power to kill themselves can still have story potential, something we saw a little bit of in Spider-Man vs Wolverine. Although, Surfer seems pretty quick to accept and adjust to the fact that its happened, even if he doesn't approve of it. I'd imagine the Herald stuff was probably harder to come to terms with.
