Marvel Comics Presents #6 (Hulk)

Issue(s): Marvel Comics Presents #6 (Hulk story only)
Cover Date: Nov 88
Title: "Risky business"
Credits:
Bobbie Chase - Writer
Jeff Purves - Penciler
Pat Redding - Inker
Mike Rockwitz - Assistant Editor
Terry Kavanagh - Editor

Review/plot:
Hulk editor Bobbie Chase writes a short Hulk story, drawn by regular Hulk artist Jeff Purves. I guess i'll say the point of it is to promote the new status quo in the Hulk and not to reinforce the idea that the Marvel Comics Presents series served as a nepotistic mill for Marvel editors.

It's not much of a story. It just has the other casino owners in Las Vegas agreeing to hire a bunch of goons to try to kill Joe Fixit, since because he's so good at keeping crime out of Berengetti's Coliseum casino it's causing an increase in crime at the others.

That of course doesn't work out well for them.

The casino owners instead decide they'll just hire more security at their own places.

It's not a horrible little story - although Bobbie Chase's attempts at humor don't match Peter David's - but it's also not much of a story.

Historical Significance Rating: 1

Chronological Placement Considerations: The MCP has this after Hulk #348 and before his appearance in Web of Spider-Man #44 which crosses over with Hulk #349. Joe Fixit and Marlo have a date in this issue, making this the first time we see that it's an ongoing relationship.
